Yacht Engine Room Floor Plates — Complete Restoration & Replacement.

At Balearic Coating Solutions, we specialise in the complete preparation, restoration and powder coating of yacht engine-room floor plates.
We work with yacht engineers, captains, management companies, shipyards and refit contractors who require professional results, reliable turnaround times and consistent finishes across entire engine rooms. From a handful of damaged panels to the complete restoration of an engine-room floor, we offer a comprehensive service.
Complete Floor Plate Restoration
Our restoration process can include:
- Initial inspection and assessment of each floor plate.
- Removal of old paint, damaged powder coating and corrosion using professional abrasive blasting.
- Appropriate cleaning, degreasing and surface preparation.
- Controlled thermal pre-treatment and outgassing where suitable for the material and condition.
- Application of a suitable powder-coating primer, including corrosion-resistant systems where specified.
- Application of a durable powder-coated finish in the customer’s selected colour.
- Optional compatible clear protective coating.
- Final inspection and preparation for return to the yacht.
We can restore previously painted, powder-coated or uncoated floor plates, subject to material suitability and condition.

Specialist finishes such as chrome-effect coatings or anodising may be available through suitable processes or external partners, depending on material and application. Chrome-effect coating is not genuine chrome plating; anodising is a separate process, not powder coating.
Collection & Delivery
To help yacht crews plan an engine-room refurbishment, we can arrange collection and return of floor plates from suitable marina or quay-side handover points around Palma and Mallorca. Collection and delivery are subject to access, scheduling and quotation.
Temporary Plywood Floor Protection
Engine rooms often need to remain accessible while floor plates are away for refurbishment. We can help arrange suitable temporary plywood panels or protective coverings, including collection of plywood and cutting to agreed dimensions, so the yacht can plan around the refurbishment period. Temporary panels must be approved by the yacht’s responsible engineer for their intended use; they are not certified structural or fire-rated replacements.
