At Balearic Coating Solutions, we specialise in professional sandblasting, powder coating and metal restoration for the marine, yachting and superyacht industries. Based in Palma de Mallorca, our workshop works with yacht crews, chief engineers, marine fabricators, yacht management companies and refit specialists throughout Mallorca. From engine room floor plates, generator covers, tender chocks and bimini structures to hatch covers, railings and ventilation grilles, we prepare and coat suitable removable metal components. Saltwater, humidity, corrosion and everyday wear can affect marine metalwork. We assess each project before agreeing a treatment, whether it is part of a refit, seasonal preparation or an individual component.
All components are assessed, never assumed suitable.

A typical sequence for suitable components. Each stage is adapted, or omitted, according to material, condition and the agreed specification.
Oils, grease and surface contamination are removed so they are not driven into the substrate during blasting.
Abrasive blasting removes old coatings, corrosion and contamination and creates a profile for the new coating to key into.
The bare metal is inspected. Defects, masking requirements and areas needing protection are identified before coating.
Where appropriate for the material, the part is heated in a controlled way to release trapped gases that could otherwise blemish the finish.
A compatible epoxy powder primer is applied as the corrosion-resistant foundation of the system.
The agreed top coat is applied and cured, with colour and finish chosen for the component and its environment.
The finished part is inspected and protectively wrapped for return to the vessel or refit team.

We work with suitable aluminium, steel, stainless steel and other compatible metals. Available finishes may include gloss, satin, matt, textured, selected metallic effects and compatible clear coats. Suitability depends on the material, condition, dimensions, disassembly, operating environment and manufacturer requirements.
A reference list, not a guarantee. Every item is assessed before any work is agreed.
Safety-critical, load-bearing, hydraulic, electrical, watertight, high-temperature, permanently submerged and precision-machined components must be reviewed with the vessel’s engineer, the manufacturer and, where relevant, the classification or flag requirements before any sandblasting or coating is considered. We may decline work that is not appropriate.
All treatments depend on material, condition, dimensions, disassembly, operating environment and manufacturer requirements.
At Balearic Coating Solutions, we can assess hundreds of different yacht components for sandblasting, powder coating and refurbishment. If you have a metal component that requires restoration, send us a few photographs and approximate dimensions. Whether it is an individual bracket, hatch cover, bimini structure, generator cover, handrail or a collection of engine-room components, we are happy to discuss your project. We can often provide an initial quotation using photographs and measurements.
Many aluminium components can be powder coated after assessment. The alloy, condition, size, construction and operating environment determine whether the process is appropriate.
